For Current Residents

Every apartment is provided with a black binder that holds detailed product information for each appliance in your apartment.  Those instructions come in handy if you find you’re not sure how to use a feature, or have trouble with operating the appliance.  In the event you don’t find what you’re looking for in the binder, you can also Google the appliance and will find lots of information on the internet.

Frequently Asked Questions

Apartment cleaning guidelines – We are often asked what’s expected when you vacate one of our apartments.  The concept is simple – return it to us in the same condition as we provided it to you.  But to avoid confusion about what those details include, we’ve created a cleaning checklist provided to each resident at move in.

How to handle your trash

It’s essential that you bag all trash before putting it into the outside containers. The county does not pick loose trash out of the cans!  You’re responsible for moving the outside containers to the curb on your trash day in the morning (or the night before) and returning them to the designated spot at the end of the day.  If you think your trash was missed by the collectors, use the appropriate county contact information above to report the problem.  Please be considerate of other residents and do your part.

Plumbing Notice

Do not dispose of any items in toilets except human waste and toilet tissue.  Specifically, do not flush any feminine hygiene products of any type, no plastic, no food, no pet waste or cat litter.  Our properties were originally built several decades ago, and the main sewer connections cannot handle any inappropriate items being flushed.  Also – it’s good practice not to flush any unused or unwanted prescriptions as this negatively impacts wastewater recycling.

When using the garbage disposal, don’t overfill it.  Do not grind bones or other excessively hard food items.  We’ve found one of the most frequent problems from residents comes when they try to use the garbage disposal for potato or fruit peels.  Those peels are thin and flat and slip under the grinding blades, jamming the disposal. When you have a large quantity of food waste, it’s best to put it in the trash.

Snow Removal

You are responsible for removing snow from the entrances, sidewalks and driveways of the property.  Each county has its own unique guideline for the public sidewalks and stipulates what must be cleared by when.  We provide shovels and ice melt at the beginning of snow season for each property.  That said, we do have contractors hired to remove snow at our properties – but we cannot guarantee they’ll be there when you are ready to venture out.  So – if you can keep up with the snow removal and ice melt, especially at the entrance to the property during a big storm, this will ensure everyone’s safety in the event our contractors are delayed by the weather.
